Ginger Pear Crisp

For a real treat, use Asian pears for this recipe. They maintain their crispness and are sooo much better than regular pears!

  • 1 1/2 cups ginger snaps, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 peeled, ripe pears, cut in half (or thick slices if using Asian pears)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Mix together the crumbs, brown sugar, salt and butter. Place half of the crumbs into a buttered, 8-inch round baking dish. Place pears, add remaining crumb mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream and/or whipped cream.

Is it bad of me that I use both ice cream and whipped cream on top?!
